Seva Sadan's College of Education is the Premier and Pioneer Institution founded by Late Seth Parasram Parumal Dabrai in the Year 1966 to meet the needs of the suburban people of Mumbai.

Our college is the Government unaided College of Education in Thane district of Maharashtra State with 40 student's intake capacity in English medium.
We have dedicated and competent staff and providing quality teacher education. Our College holds minority status, however admissions are granted on merit and follow the norms and Maharashtra Government D.EL.ED admission rules(MSCERT-PUNE) With the sincere effort of both the staff and student we always achieve commendable and remarkable result in the board examinations.
We are conducting courses right from certificate course in Nursery teaching affiliated to University of Mumbai, D.EL.ED to Ph.D. (Education) College is a partner institute to offer courses like PGDHE, B.Ed., B.L.I.S., MLIS, PGDLAN, PEDET, CELL, MAPC of IGNOU, New Delhi. College is recognized study center of YCMOU Nashik, & IDOL (University of Mumbai) for teacher education programme and other job oriented programmes.

Admission for D.El.Ed. Course

The Institution follows the criteria set by Maharashtra State Education Research and Training Council - Pune.

Eligibility Criteria:
1. The Candidate should have passed H.S.C examination or equivalent (Any stream) Eligible criteria as per Maharashtra State Education Research and Training Council -Pune.

PAYMENT OF FEES
1. Students are required to pay full fess for the whole year at the time of securing admission to The college.
2. No Leaving Certificate will be issued to any student unless he/she has paid all the college dues (including, in the case of a resident student, all hostel and mess dues.)
3. In case of student leaves the course in between (first year) he is bound to pay second year fees.

Rules of Attendance and Discipline

  • Students must observe discipline in and outside the college.
  • Students receiving Government Scholarship should note that these Scholarships are granted to them on the following conditions:

   • Regular attendance.
   • Satisfactory conduct and progress in studies.
   • Absence from classes will be considered as breach of discipline.

 

  • The conduct of the students in their classes as well as in the college campus, shall be such as would cause no disturbance to others.
  • Students are expected to take proper care of college property and help in keeping the premises neat and clean. Any damage done to the property of the college by disfiguring walls, doors, fitting, or breaking furniture, or any other way, amounts to misconduct and will be dealt with accordingly.

Code of Conduct

  • Students are advised to read rugularly all the notices on the Notice Boards, including college website www.sscoe.edu.in Ignorance of the notices shall not be entertained as an excuse.
  • Students must wear their I-Card in the college premises which must be produced when demanded by the college authorities.
  • Programmes likely to disrupt the academic atmosphere in the campus are not permitted. The decision of the Principal in this regard shall be final and binding on the students.
  • Smoking is strictly prohitibed in the entire college campus, including college canteen,
  • Students shall attend lectures, practicals, tutuorials, class tests, essay tests, examination as per prescribed timetable and shall keep their Guardians informed about their progress in studies.
  • All students must park their vehicles at the vehicle stand. They are required to to pay necessary charges for the same. Parking of vehicles at places other than the authorised vehicle stand is strictly prohibited and students are liable to be fined for wrong parking.

Library Rules

  •  The College library is normally opened from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (Monday to Saturday)
  •  Books are issued for home reading for a period of 10 days. However it can be renewed further, if there is no demand by other.
  •  Reference Books, Dictionaries, Encyclopedia must be referred in the library during working hours.
  •  Students should resist from marking library books with pencil or ink or mutilating them.
  •  Books found damaged / mutilated should be shown to the librarian at the time of issue.
  •  Report loss of books immediately to the librarian.
  •  The librarian reserves the right to recall any book at any time.
  •  Silence should be observed in the library.
  •  Mobile phones and refreshments are strictly forbidden in the library.
  •  Students should keep library neat and clean.
  •  Book bank facility is available in our library. Four books are issued on "First Come First Serve" basis to the needy students

PUBLICATIONS

  • College publishes biannual journal "Innovation in Teacher Education" with ISSN-0975-4989 for disseminating research findings and scholarly communication.
  • The College publishes "UDITI" magazine annualy reflecting the different activities conducted throughout the year.

Attendance

The students should note that they will not be permitted to appear for the Board/University Examination if they fail to satisfy the college authorities, on any of the following counts :-
a) At least 80% attendance at both Lectures and 100% practical (except by prior permission of Principal for valid reasons)
b) Attendance and performance at the college examinations/tutorials.
c) Good and disciplined behavior in the college premises.
d) Obedience to the instructions of teachers, staff and other college authorities.

B.Ed. PROGRAMME IS A TWO YEAR FULL TIME COURSE RECOGNIZED BY UNIVERSITY OF MUMBAI COMPRISING OF FOUR SEMESTERS

The Intake capacity is 200 students. There are two divisions English and Marathi with the capacity of 100 each. College governs under Sindhi lingustic Minority ie, 50%, however admissions are through CAP.

Objectives of the B.Ed. Programme

1. To help the student-teachers to understand the role of education and teachers in changing the Indian society, which has a great tradtion behind and yet is changing continuosly.

2. To help them to understand their students with the help of concepts, principles and theories in various faculties of knowledge.

3. To motivate student-teachers to acquaint themselves with the structure of school subjects and see their relation with standard-wise objectives, syllabus and methodology.

4. To make available opportunities of assessing and making decisions about leaming experiences as u part lesson-preparation.

5. To provide opportunities for rationalizing the selection or production of tools of evaluation and descisions about remedial teaching.

6. To give practice of teaching with different methods, teachniques and appropriate educational aids.

7. To provide experience of shouldering responsibilites other than teaching during the internship period.

8. To give opportunity to understand problmes of the parents of deprived children through a follow- up programme of a case study.

9. To give an opportunity to participate in an educational or development project in the social service programme.

10. To give an opportunity to obtain up-to-date knowledge of some favourite subject on internet.
